Neighborhood Know-It-All: City and School Board Meet, Seniors to Hold Pool Party, WPHS Students Honored

Both White Plains Common Council and White Plains Board of Education will meet Monday, 211 White Plains High School students honored and more this week in White Plains.

 Let’s face it—everyone likes being a know-it-all. Arm yourself with knowledge and find out what’s happening this week in White Plains

1.) Public Information Session on Gedney Landfill

The public will get to ask questions and find out information on the City’s plan to cap and close the former Gedney Landfill on Thurs. June 9 at 7 p.m. at the White Plains Performing Arts Center (11 City Pl. third floor). Click for more information.

2.) White Plains Common Council Meets

The White Plains Common Council holds their regular monthly meeting Mon. June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at city hall. Click on the PDF to see the agenda.

3.) White Plains School Board Holds Special Meeting

On Mon. June 6 at 6:46 p.m. at White Plains High School Room B-1 the White Plains Board of Education will recognize the district’s scholars and athletes.

4.) Senior Pool Party and BBQ

Westchester County senior citizens will enjoy a pool party and barbecue Wed. June 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Saxon Woods Pool (rain date is June 23). Admission and parking is free, park passes are not required. A $4 lunch fee for seniors and children is suggested. If you would like to place a lunch order you must do so before Mon. 5.) 211 WPHS Students Honored
