The Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) will release its “B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bag): Reusable Bag Policies at Westchester County Grocery Stores” report on 10 local groceries stores Tuesday, June 28 at the in White Plains, at 11 a.m.

CCE will also be giving away reusable bags, made possible with support provided by the Westchester Community Foundation, to encourage customers to bring their own bags. Click here for more information on how plastic bags negatively impact the environment.
2.) Director of Economic Development/Press Officer Position Restored, 8 City Works Laid Off

White Plains announced Monday the hiring Karen Pasquale as the City's Director of Economic Development—a position the White Plains Common Council got rid of when former Mayor Adam Bradley was in Office.
According to the White Plains CitizenNetReporter, Pasquale was hired after eight city employees were laid off on Friday—two from the public works department, and one position each from the mayor's office, information services, youth bureau, and recreation and budget departments.

Be well and get fit and healthy for free with the White Plains Youth Bureau’s free Summer Fitness Boot Camp. Spots are filling up fast for those aged 13 to 21-years-old. Camp starts July 5, and runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants must bring their lunch to camp, which includes personal training with experienced professionals in boxing, martial arts, nutrition and education. Call the youth bureau at 914-422-1378 or click here for more information.
