Neighborhood Know-It-All: Eastview Gets French Award, Playland Coupons, Fatherhood Olympics

1.) Eastview Knows Their French

Three Eastview Middle School students in Amy von Sauer’s class were honored by the American Association of Teachers of French for ranking among the top ten students in Westchester on the association’s National French Test, the “Le Gran Councours.”

Jose Huerta, an eight grader, was ranked tenth in the nation; seventh grader Charlotte Mead ranked eighth; and sixth grader Julia Chen ranked sixth nationally.

2.) Register for the White Plains Fatherhood Olympics

The first White Plains Fatherhood Olympics will take place on Sat. June 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ’s track and field. More information and applications for the Fatherhood Olympics can be found here.

3.) White Plains Residents Honored by Stepinac 

Margaret Mastronardi and Carol Mastoloni of White Plains along with Ruth Baldovin of Bedford Hills were honored with the Archbishop Stepinac High School’s Major Bowes Award for being benefactors of the school. The trio recently helped fund the refurbishment of the seats in the school’s Major Bowed auditorium.
