1.) School Board Special Meeting

Learn how to advance your career by using the professional social networking site LinkedIn. Harriet Leaner of Go Visible PR will give a presentation on the fundamentals of LinkedIn at , 238 Central Ave., on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The $30 entrance fee includes a full course Italian dinner. The White Plains School District will hold a public forum on redesigning its middle schools Thursday, Sept.  22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at in Room B-1. Click for more information.

Elisabeth Lefer (first place), Emma Adler (second place) Nicole Suozzo (third place) and Lauren Ciubotaru (runner up) were this year’s winners of “It’s Always Something” teen essay contest sponsored by  located in White Plains.

The essay contest is one of the many activities Gilda’s Club Westchester offers local teens. Gilda’s Club is looking for more teens to volunteer to assist with activities, like the annual Noogiefest. If you are interested in volunteering call 914-644-8844 or click for more information.

The will hold its annual Season Opening Celebration at the theatre Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. 

The event includes a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception, and a preview of the upcoming Mainstage Season and the Conservatory Theatre productions including “Spring Awakening,” “The Drowsy Chaperone,” and more.

Tickets are $100 and sponsorship levels range from $1,000 to $5,000.  Proceeds go toward the Conservatory Theatre, an educational youth theatre program of the White Plains Performing Arts Center.  For more information or to buy tickets visit www.wppac.com or call 914-328-1600.
