This new bakery started selling confectionary masterpieces on the corner of Martine Avenue and Court St. on June 20. Buttercup Bake Shop, which has another location in Manhattan, whips ups classic American desserts like cupcakes, cheesecakes, cakes, pies, trifles, brownies, layer cakes, cookie bars and pudding seven days week. You can even have the bakery make special orders for your birthday and wedding, including orders for up to 1,000 cupcakes.
Former clinical psychologist Jennifer Appel decided to open a second location for Buttercup Bake Shop after she, her husband and daughter moved to Ardsley from Manhattan last year.

“White Plains seemed like a natural fit,” said Appel. “It’s a city and people are very aware of life in Manhattan. Many of our White Plains customers are also customers in Manhattan, so it’s been really amazing.”

If there is a heaven, then it serves eight different flavors of frozen yogurt a day with toppings you can pile on to your heart’s desire. This self-serve frozen yogurt store, in downtown White Plains, rotates between 46 different flavors and also has dairy free, no fat, sugar free and gluten free options.

Frozen Heaven also serves smoothies, milk shakes and fruit juices using fresh fruit and low or non-fat ingredients.

Muscle Maker Grill, which has restaurants all over the country, is fast food’s “good twin.” Located where Brooklyn Subs and Pasta used to be, this restaurant serves up healthier versions of your classic favorites like a bacon cheeseburger, with turkey bacon, reduced fact cheddar cheese and zero-carb signature sauce.
