Patch Chat: Are Red-Light Cameras Dangerous?
ABC News reports the controversy surrounding cameras in red lights; do they make you feel uneasy on the road?
In Weschester, it's common to see those formidable white cameras when stopped at traffic lights—but throughout the country, there has been a controversy over whether these cameras do more harm than good, ABC News reported Tuesday.
According to the article, "Houston has already voted them out, and now the driving capital of the world, Los Angeles, is on the verge of doing the same."
Nine other states have banned them and many others have laws regulating their use. Those who argue against the on-the-street cameras say that people tend to stop short at lights—causing rear-end collisions—to avoid receiving tickets in the mail.
