PatchChat: Is Con Edison Doing Enough to Repair Power in Your Area?
More than 106,000 of the Con Edison's 3.2 million customers in New York remain without power after Hurricane Irene.

Some customers in Westchester have told Patch they have been without power since early Sunday morning.
According to Con Edison's outage map at 12:30 p.m., 1,999 of Con Edison's 23,854 White Plains customers are without power. The current estimated restoration time was Thursday, Sept. 1 at noon.
Many without power have sought refuge at family members’ homes. Some have gone to their local gyms to take showers or have returned home to throw out spoiled food.

In a statement released this morning, Con Edison said that with flooded roads and manholes and downed wires and trees, safety is a priority in restoring outages.
The company is reconnecting electricity starting with larger groups in each part of its service area and is estimating that customers in New York City will have power restored by Tuesday.

Westchester County residents can expect restoration by Thursday, though some report that their power has come on sooner. Con Edison is supplying dry ice at several locations throughout Westchester.
