Hundreds of fans—young and old, old and new—came out to Thursday to watch Peter Yarrow—of the musical trio Peter, Paul and Mary—perform for more than an hour, as raised almost $700 for its fifth grade activities.
“He had the children up and singing from the start,” said Caroline Furry, of the Post Road Elementary School PTA. “There was a very mixed crowd, many of his fans from the 60's and 70's came out to hear him play and to meet him. The children loved that he engaged them in his songs and talk. He improvised most of the time, weaving in Post Road School to his songs and monologue. He is a true supporter of children and their causes.”
The fundraiser will help the Post Road School PTA fund fifth grade graduation activities: yearbook, field day, graduation t-shirts, and more.
