Report White Plains Crime Anonymously with App

Use the "TipSubmit" iPhone and Android Mobile app or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword WPPD from any cell phone.

You can now help make the city safer anytime, anywhere by reporting non-emergency crime tips through your cell phone. 

Residents and visitors to White Plains can submit anonymous tips through the City’s website at www.wppublicsafety.com, by clicking here; through the “TipSubmit” iPhone or Andriod app; or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword WPPD from any cell phone.

“The popularity of text messaging has created a significant opportunity for the public to help law enforcement agencies prevent and solve crime,” said Commissioner David Chong. “And through this secure service, they can be assured that it’s safe for them to do the right thing without ever disclosing their identity.”

Text messages are encrypted with a unique ID and routed through secure servers to protect the identity of the tip provider. By using the anonymous tip service, you can help solve unsolved cases, report vandalism and theft, as well as information on planned crimes in the city and its schools. 

“White Plains continues to demonstrate its commitment to public safety through the introduction of this technology to prevent, reduce and solve crime,” said White Plains Mayor Tom Roach. “With this new service we invite the public to take an active role in making their community safer.”
