Ridgeway Elementary Bears Its Soul for a New Playground [VIDEO]
The school's staff took to the stage for the Ridgeway Soul Revue fundraiser that also honored Black History month.
Did you know that is run by superstars? Well it is, and they took to the stage Thursday to pay tribute to Black History Month and raise money for a new playground.
The Ridgway Soul Revue was organized by teaching assistants Joey Havis and Debbie Monaco, who also served as the masters of ceremony for the show, which came after a community dinner of Southern soul food.

The Marvelettes—a.k.a. teacher Shari Bierly, and teaching assistants Stella Boyer, and Patti Pickett—delivered the school’s motto to “Be Your Best,” during their performance of “Please Mr. Postman.”
Aminah Kapadia assumed her alter ego as Sheila E. explaining that life isn’t much without love when you’re living “The Glamorous Life.”

The Aretha Franklin’s shared their message of “Respect,” while Havis and Monaco sang “Ebony and Ivory.”
DJ Lamont McCormick, a Ridgeway gym teacher, got the students to boogie down on stage with the "Cha Cha Slide."
The crowd went wild when Beyoncé hit the stage—actually it was Principal Tashia Brown, but you would never know the difference judging by her dance moves.
