City Prepares for Halloween After Snow

White Plains is still hosting a holiday celebration for local children tonight at Gillie Park.

There are still 1,531 without power in White Plains from Saturday’s storm that dumped about seven inches of snow over the city. According to Con Edison’s outage map, power should be fully restored in the city by Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 11:59 p.m.

The outages caused part of Church Street Elementary School to lose some of its power. Those students were picked up with their regular buses this morning, but were transported to George Washington Elementary School for the day. Those students will returned to Church Street Elementary School before the end of the day.

After sleigh riding at White Plains High School on Sunday, local children will still enjoy some Halloween fun on Monday. For those who aren’t navigating snowy sidewalks to going trick-or-treating tonight, the City’s Halloween celebration is a welcomed alternative.
