Stepinac Head Basketball Coach Stepping Down
Tim Philp was named the 2013 CHSAA "AA" coach of the year.

Archbishop Stepinac High School says that Tim Philp has decided to step down after 10 years as head basketball coach at the school in White Plains.
Philp is a 1995 graduate of Stepinac who was named the 2013 CHSAA “AA” coach of the year.
After 18 years of coaching – including eight years at Christ the King Elementary – Philp said that his focus is now on his family. He and his wife are expecting their second child this summer.

“Stepinac extends its best wishes to Tim,” said Principal Paul Carty. “The sports programs have had a tremendous amount of success because of his time, hard work and passion. He has left incredible memories for parents, players, alumni and staff.”
This year was a banner season for basketball program, with its best season in 27 years. In only its second season in the CHSAA’s “AA” division, the 2012-2013 Crusaders finished the regular season 18-6, including a 12-6 mark in the league.

They finished second in the New York Archdiocesan tournament, highlighted by sweeps against longtime rivals Iona Prep and Fordham Prep and wins over St. Raymond and Archbishop Molloy. They also won the Slam Dunk Tournament in December.
