Stories of Love: Share Yours

In celebration of Valentine's Day we asked our readers to tell us their love stories. Find out what they said, and tell us your love story.

We put out a shout out on Facebook to hear your most romantic, gushy and heart fluttering stories in honor of Valentine's Day.

Here is White Plains Patch reader Freedom Shannon of Hastings-on-Hudson’s story about how she met her partner Joshua Blair:

On Feb. 12, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona, we met. I was living in Phoenix at the time, and he was there for business and the NBA All-Star Game.  A mutual friend put us in touch.

To be perfectly honest, when I first met him I wasn't interested.

A.) He lived in New York

B.) Our mutual friend is sort of, how do you say it, "a player"

C.) HE LIVED IN NEW YORK, almost 2,500 miles away

He called me Friday to see if I wanted to have lunch. I was working so blew him off.

Throughout the day he continued to send me cute text messages, followed by an invite for drinks when I was off from work. He was persistent.  I finally agreed but took a friend along the way.

We were having such a great time. I ended up texting, yes texting, a cancellation to the gentleman I had a second date scheduled with that night.

At midnight, it was Valentine's Day. He asked for a kiss and I could not resist.

Since then, we are heading to our third All Star game together in Orlando to celebrate our anniversary. We have now been together for three years, and in September of 2010, I quit my job, sold most of my belongings, and moved to New York to be with the man I love.

Don’t forget to spread the love and share your love story in the comments. If we get enough we will create a poll so you can vote for the love story that knocks your socks off.
