Thunderstorms and Possible Flooding

Thunderstorms to last through Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory, a special weather statement and hazardous weather outlook for Westchester.

Minor flooding is possible, and could cause streams and creeks to rise out of their banks—though the flooding will minimally damage property and be non-life threatening. The National Weather Services advises to not drive into areas where water covers the roadway, as most flooding deaths occur in automobiles.

Strong thunderstorms with heavy wind and rain for the area are predicted, and may continue into Thursday. The National Weather Services warns that lighting is one of nature’s number one killers, and to be in a safe shelter if you can hear thunder to avoid being struck.
