TripAdvisor's Top 10 Restaurants in White Plains: Do You Agree?

After Patch posted “Yelp’s Top 10 Restaurants in White Plains,” some took to Facebook to express their disapproval.

In a comment on White Plains Patch’s Facebook, Jack Egan posted, “This list is absurd! Yelp cannot be trusted.”

So, if you’re still looking for that great place to eat for date night this weekend, or a place for family and friends to enjoy a tasty night out, Patch has you covered, again.

But we want you to know exactly what’s out there and what other have to say about the best places near you.

Here are the top 10 Restaurants in White Plains, according to TripAdvisor and its highest ratings.

3. Francesco’s Restaurant
4. Mulino’s of Westchester
5. Morton’s The Steakhouse
6. Sapori
7. Via Veneto 26
8. Buon Amici
9. Benjamin Steakhouse
10. Sam’s of Gedney Way

Star Diner, a restaurant that stirred a lot of discussion in the comments on White Plains Patch’s Facebook, was just shy of making the list, ranking at #11.

In reaction to Yelp’s ranking Star Diner as #2, Tracey Bogart wrote in a comment, “Absolutely not...really the Star Diner...on Post Road..???? That place is a roach infested, greasy dirty hole in the wall....and this was picked as one of the top 10 restaurants...you’ve got to be kidding!! Not to mention pretty much every other place on this list is sub-standard!! There are many, many fabulous places in White Plains…”

Teri Chase also wrote, “Agreed!!! This list is utter nonsense!!!!!! The Star Diner? Really?”

But some took the opportunity to defend the Diner and its following.

Krissy Kitty wrote in a comment, “That place may be a whole in the wall, but many many people think it’s good.”

Also in defense of the Diner, John Flynn posted a comment, “I agree that Star Diner is good it has a following. Doctors, Nurses Police and Firemen and the local town folks. Francesco’s excellent. The rest on the list are off. Gaucho’s is excellent. Hudson Grille is excellent. Mulino’s awesome.”
