Westchester Health Officials Urge Residents To Get New COVID Vaccine
Most people with health insurance can find the vaccine at pharmacies and health care providers, officials said.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Westchester County Department of Health is recommending everyone 6 months and older to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine.
The new vaccine targets the variant currently circulating and was recently approved for use.
Health Commissioner Sherlita Amler, M.D., said, with the new variants circulating, the new vaccine should be scheduled for one’s whole family as soon as possible.

“Vaccination protects you and it protects those around you who are more vulnerable to complications, such as infants too young to be vaccinated, seniors and people with chronic health conditions,” she said.

The Westchester County Health Department will offer this new vaccine to children eligible for the Vaccines for Children Program and to adults who are not insured or who are underinsured.
Vaccines will be available by appointment only.
