Westchester Legislators To Hold Public Sessions On Redistricting

The four sessions can be viewed online, and comments can be submitted by mail or email.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Population changes in Westchester County mean it's time to talk redistricting on the county level.

To that end, the Westchester County Board of Legislators has proposed a remapping of the county's 17 legislative districts.

There will be four sessions for the public to give its input on the changes, starting with one in Peekskill Tuesday, followed by sessions in White Plains, Yonkers and Mount Vernon.

According to officials, the sessions aim to educate the public about proposed changes to the legislative district boundaries and provide an opportunity for feedback.

The public input sessions are:

  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Peekskill Middle School, 212 Ringgold St., Peekskill
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Board of Legislators Chamber, 148 Martine Ave., 8th floor, White Plains
  • 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Yonkers Public Library — Riverfront Library, 1 Larkin Center, Yonkers
  • 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Mount Vernon City Hall, City Council Chambers, 1 Roosevelt Square N., Mount Vernon

The sessions for Sept. 13, Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 can be watched on Facebook Live. The Sept. 14 session can be viewed on the board's website.
