“I came out to vote today for good people to run Westchester County,” said Maria Gambora, 62, who has lived in White Plains for 26 years.
“White Plains is a great place to live with great schools and great people, but it’s expensive,” said Sandra Parrott, 60, who has lived in White Plains for 15 years. “The taxes are really high and the parking keeps going up. We have these tacky digital signs going up around the city—our quality of life is being reduced.”

“I don’t believe in any politicians. I think all politicians are full of it. I only come out to vote because Dr. Martin Luther King helped me get the right to vote, so that’s why I vote every year,” an African American woman who declined to give her name.
“It’s Election Day, I come every year,” said Juanita Rivas, 68, who has lived in White Plains or more than 26 years. “Parking is one of the biggest issues in White Plains, because the residents are really being put on with parking. Residents are becoming second class citizens next to the people who come here to work, and use the bars or whatever.”
