Bike to Work—or School, or Just Around the Neighborhood—This Friday
You don't need to bike to work to celebrate.

Celebrate your love of two-wheeled transportation this Friday with Bike to Work Day, in which you do exactly what the name suggests.
There are a number of Bike to Work Day events planned around Brooklyn and the city at large. BikeNYC breaks it down:

This meet-up will kick off at 8 a.m. with coffee and snacks at Gorilla Coffee on 5th Avenue. Once the folks from Flatbush (see above) arrive, the ride will continue to downtown Brooklyn. Bonus: Free "I Bike BKLYN" buttons will be handed out to participants.
This isn't a Bike to Work Day event, per se, but it is a fabulous opportunity to enjoy a nearby neighborhood's cultural treasures. This 45-minute ride, which begins at 138 Willoughby Street, will take participants past the former and current homes and workplaces of some of the most influential artists in the city. The ride culminates in a visit to the Dekalb Market, where you can enjoy some local fare in the company of your fellow riders. Tickets are $30, and bike rentals are available for $10.
Also Worth Noting:
The advocacy group Transportation Alternatives will be setting up commuter stations—which roughly translates to "free iced coffee and Clif bars— at each of the East River bridge crossings, the Staten Island Ferry and the West Side Greenway from 7 to 11 a.m.
