Jobby Wine and Liquor on the Road to Recovery

The liquor store has been shuttered since an electrical fire destroyed its inventory in March.

More than laid waste to both its stock and the building that housed it, is just about back in business.

A relative of Jobby's owner told Patch that while the store, which has been shuttered since March, has a ready supply of liquor and spirits, it still needs to beef up its wine selection before it can open for good.

Aging wiring is to blame for the fire that sparked late one March night, but the real damage came not from the flames, but from the rain that poured in through the charred hole in the store's ceiling.

The last two months have largely been dedicated to reconstructing the ceiling, said the relative, who declined to give his name.

Though the store clearly has some work to be done (see the photos at right), we're glad to see that the gate has been lifted and the space is slowly coming back to life.
