Service Changes Set for F, G Trains

Also: changes in store for nearby B and Q train lines.

The F and G subway lines will undergo a series of service changes this week, the MTA announced on its website. 

Please be advised of the following changes to subway lines running through and near Windsor Terrace and Kensington, for the week of Aug. 5-9.

F Train

From Roosevelt Avenue to Fifth Avenue/53rd Street, Coney Island-bound F trains will run via the E line from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. from from Monday through Friday. Trains resume regular service at 47th-50th Streets. 

There will be no Coney Island-bound F service at the 21st St-Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue/63rd Street and 57th Street stations. 

To get to these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from 21 St-Queensbridge and Roosevelt Island, take the F to Roosevelt Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train. 

From Lexington Avenue/63rd Street, use the nearby 59th Street 4, 5, 6 Station for downtown local service to 51st Street and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train at the E/M platform. From 57th Street, use the nearby 57th Street/Seventh Avenue N, Q, R Station for downtown service to 34th Street-Herald Square, where Coney Island-bound F service is available. 


G Train

From 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. from Tuesday, through Friday, expect service changes at the Greenpoint Avenue station. All trains will board at the Court Square-bound platform. 


Q Train

Manhattan-bound Q train platforms at Cortelyou Road, Beverley Road and Parkside Avenue will be closed for construction at all times until the fall. For service to these stations, take the Q train to Church Avenue or Prospect Park and transfer to a Coney Island-bound Q. Or, take the Q to Church Avenue or Newkirk Plaza and transfer to a Manhattan-bound Q. 

Until Aug. 23, Manhattan-bound Q trains will skip Neck Road and Avenue U from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.. For service to these stations, take the Q to Kings Highway and transfer to a Brighton Beach-bound B train or to a Coney Island-bound Q train. Or, take the B train or Q train to Sheepshead Bay and transfer to a Manhattan-bound Q to double back. 

There will be no Q trains between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday. Q trains will run between Stillwell Avenue and 57th Street-Seventh Avenue. As an alternate, take the N train, but be sure to review N advisories on a daily basis for additional information that may affect your trip. 


B Train

B Brighton Beach-bound trains make local stops at Avenue U and Neck Rd Days from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday until Aug. 23. Please allow additional travel time.
