The following information comes from police reports from the 66th Precinct of the NYPD. It does not indicate a conviction.
What started as a ride in a taxi turned into a ride in an ambulance for a 27-year-old man beaten and robbed in Kensington on Sunday.
The victim told cops that he was about to pay a yellow cab driver near Caton Avenue and East 7th Street when he was dragged out of the taxi by four men in their 20's. The assailants hit the victim in the head several times before going for his wallet, from which they extracted $440. (They were unable to make off with the wallet itself, however, because it was chained to the victim's pants.)
