The Early Word: Alternate Side Parking Suspended For The Holidays

Crossroads Cafe is closing early, Spring Bicycle Racing series hits Prospect Park and more.

1. The city Spring Bicycle Racing Series hits Prospect Park on Saturday beginning at the Willink entrance at Flatbush and Ocean avenues at 6:30 a.m., so those planning to go for an early morning run should expect some chaos.

2. Crossroads Cafe will be closing at 1 p.m. on Friday in observance of Passover, and will reopen on Saturday at 8 a.m.

3. Take the kids to Prospect Park this weekend! The Audubon Center hosts fun nature craft events and games for the youngins from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

4. Meet up with your neighbors at the Argyle Yarn Shop on Saturday and get your craft on. The shop—on Prospect Park West between 17th and 18th streets—will host all experience levels of knitters and crocheters Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

5. Alternate side parking rules will be suspended today through Saturday for Good Friday and Passover.
