- Uncommon Market was back in Asheville this past weekend with its big pop-up market which bought in 115 vendors. The market took place on Sunday right on Foundy Street where the community took on a rainy morning and made the most out of the day. There is another Uncommon Market pop-up scheduled for Sunday, May 21, as well as two more in September and October. (WLOS)
- The Asheville High School Cougars came to play last week as they defeated McDowell in extra innings Friday afternoon to sweep the Titans. The Cougars had a 5-2 victory on Tuesday and brought the same energy on Friday in a nailbiter winning 8-7 on a walk-off homerun by Kyle Moshier. Asheville had a huge five-run inning at the bottom of the fifth which served as a momentum shifter. (McDowell News)
- Mountain Housing Opportunities is one step closer to beginning an affordable housing project in Asheville right off Tunnel Road. The potential 60-unit project has now officially had its zoning approved by the city and the two/three-year project is closer to construction. Of the 60 units in the building, a few spots are reserved for 12 young adults who have aged out of the foster program.
