4 Arrested For DWI In Cornelius This Week: Police Blotter

Police charged a 49-year-old man for truancy this week in Cornelius. Here's a rundown of crime reported around town.

CORNELIUS, NC — Eight people were arrested this week in Cornelius and now face charges that include driving while impaired, breaking and entering and for a school attendance law violation, according to the most recent police blotter.

Three vehicles were broken into this week and five cases of larceny reported, Cornelius Police Department said.

Cornelius police cited more than two dozen drivers and two boaters for speeding this week.

Cornelius Police Department made the following arrests between July 28 - Aug 3, 2021:

  • Sarrah Marie Zura, 45, was arrested July 28 on Catawba Avenue, charged with DWLR not impaired; expired registration card/tag, unsafe lane change
  • Summer Nicole Gray, 28, was arrested July 30 on Magnolia Estates Drive, charged with misdemeanor assault and battery
  • Teresa Lynn Scott, 52, was arrested July 30 on Heritage Green at Meadow Crossing, charged with driving while impaired
  • Megan Ann Wunsch, 24, was arrested July 31 on Interstate 77 at mile marker 28 southbound, charged with driving while impaired.
  • Timothy Lee Bishop, 49, was arrested Aug. 1 on Burton Lane, charged with misdemeanor school attendance law violation
  • Wesley Kyle Sharpe, 21, was arrested Aug. 1 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with driving while impaired
  • Lastacia Darnell Simelton, 30, was arrested Aug. 1 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with driving while impaired
  • Leanne Michelle Cochran, 58, was arrested Aug. 1 on Catawba Avenue, charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.
