Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: CMS Announces New Principals At Two Myers Park Schools

New principal appointments were announced at the Nov. 9 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education meeting.

Elizabeth Carrubba was named principal at Myers Park Traditional Elementary. She has been assistant principal at Selwyn Elementary since 2018. She was interim principal at Montclaire Elementary in 2021 and assistant principal at Eastway Middle from 2015-2018. Carrubba also was academic facilitator from 2008-2015 and a teacher from 2005-2008 at Windsor Park Elementary.

Carrubba earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Fairmont State University, Fairmont, W.Va. She also earned a master's degree in curriculum and supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Robert Folk was named principal at Myers Park High. He has been principal at Alexander Graham Middle since 2010 and was principal at Coulwood Middle from 2006-2010 and assistant principal at Alexander Graham Middle from 2003-2006. Folk was the Comer facilitator from 2002-2003 and a principal intern from 2001-2002 at Myers Park High, as well as CMS partnership coordinator in 1998. Folk worked for Communities in Schools as community relations director from 1998-2000; site coordinator, Myers Park High, from 1997-1998; and site coordinator, Wesley Uptown Alternative School, from 1991-1997. He was also a CMS teacher at Mayfield Alternative High in 1991 and Providence High from 1990-1991.

Folk earned a bachelor's degree in health education from Appalachian State University, Boone. He also earned a master's degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
