Cornelius Announces 2022 Summer Camps And Registration

The Town of Cornelius has announced its summer camps in anticipation of a popular season given the last two years of the pandemic.

CORNELIUS, NC — The Town of Cornelius is getting ahead of the demand by letting parents know when they can register their kids for summer camps now.

The Cornelius Parks & Recreation Department will open registration for their 2022 summer camps on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 a.m.

Their summer program includes full-day camps, half-day sports camps, and half-day recreation camps. Options include:

Summer Day Camps

Need the whole workday filled for your child? These full-day summer camps include games, crafts, special guests and fun! For these camps only, Cornelius residents will have a one-week registration head start.

Summer Sports Camps

2022 will be their 22nd year of offering half-day camps in a variety of different sports, including basketball, cheerleading, disc golf, flag football, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, volleyball and more.

Summer Recreation Experience

This new half-day camp series will focus on active and passive recreation, nature and environmental education, and STEM opportunities!

Art camps at the Cornelius Arts Center are now under the management of Cain Center for the Arts.

Therapeutic Summer Camps

Cornelius partners with Mecklenburg County to offer camps for any child with a disability, developmental delay, behavioral / attention / sensory disorder or any other challenge hindering his / her life experiences, learning or development. Their 2022 Summer Day Camp registration will open on February 8 for Mecklenburg County residents and February 10 for non-residents.
