Cornelius Drive-In Event To Feature The Polar Express Saturday

CORNELIUS, NC — Drive-In Movies in Old Town Cornelius is concluding its holiday movie series this weekend with a showing of "The Polar Express."

The drive-in movie event, which will take place Saturday, Dec. 19 in the parking lot of the Lake Norman YMCA, offers an excuse to get out of the house while also ensuring responsible socially distancing. Popcorn and candy are available on site for purchase.

Here's what organizers say about the event:

• Arrive — 5:30 p.m.
• Park — 5:35 p.m. - 6:25 p.m.
• Show starts — 6:35 p.m.

Cars will be parked to allow space to sit outside of vehicles 6-feet apart during the movie. Audio will be broadcast over a radio signal, as well as speakers in-person throughout the parking lot, and organizers encourage those attending to also bring a chair or picnic blanket.
