Suspect Videoed Trying Door Handles Before Car Stolen: CPD
Cornelius Police are asking for help identifying a suspect caught on video pulling on vehicle door handles.
CORNELIUS, NC β Police in Cornelius are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect caught on video pulling up on vehicle door handles early Wednesday morning. Shortly after police received the report regarding the suspect, a car was reported stolen a short distance away.
According to Cornelius Police Department, the male suspect was pulling on door handles on Oak Street around 7 a.m. Police said the suspect was wearing a hoodie, sweat pants and Nike brand shoes.
Around 8:30 a.m. Sept. 23, CPD received a report that a vehicle was stolen from a home in the 21000 block of Hickory Street. The location was "only a short distance away from where the subject was pulling on door handles," CPD said.

The stolen vehicle was described as a blue Suzuki SX4 with NC tags XXB-3126.
CPD said anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to contact the police department at 704-892-7773 or North Mecklenburg Crimestoppers at 704-896-7867.
