Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours In Cornelius

CORNELIUS, NC — While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It’s a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Cornelius for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Food Lion: The majority of stores will be open on Thanksgiving, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Harris Teeter: All stores open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• 21720 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius
• 19815 North Cove Road, Cornelius
• 431 Peninsula Drive, Davidson
• 11124 Renaissance Drive, Davidson
• 9759 Sam Furr Road, Huntersville

Rite Aid: The majority of stores will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm hours.

• 21500 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius
• 230 E. Plaza Drive, Mooresville

Whole Foods: Hours vary by location. Many stores open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.

• 9129 Sam Furr Road, Huntersville

The Fresh Market: Open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• 20623 Torrence Chapel Road, Cornelius
