Wind Advisory For 45 MPH Gusts In Effect Monday

The wind advisory from the National Weather Service includes a warning that gusts could be huge.

CORNELIUS, NC — Major wind gusts have been reported all morning, according to the National Weather Service.

For Mecklenburg County and Iredell Counties, expect a wind advisory in place until at least 2 p.m., per NWS. This includes Lake Norman towns and Charlotte.

Gusts of 45 mph are possible, which can blow around unsecured objects, take down trees and cause power outages.

The gusts are expected to diminish as the afternoon wears on.
