Wind Advisory For 45 MPH Gusts In Effect Monday

CORNELIUS, NC — Major wind gusts have been reported all morning, according to the National Weather Service.

For Mecklenburg County and Iredell Counties, expect a wind advisory in place until at least 2 p.m., per NWS. This includes Lake Norman towns and Charlotte.

Gusts of 45 mph are possible, which can blow around unsecured objects, take down trees and cause power outages.

It can also affect your vehicle when driving and make it unstable.

The gusts are expected to diminish as the afternoon wears on.

Earlier this morning, 100,000 homes were without power due to the winter weather blast overnight.

A building in Mooresville caved in due to wind damage earlier today.
