3 Interesting Items To Know On Davidson's Town Meeting Agenda
The Town of Davidson meets Tuesday, February 8 for a workshop and has several interesting items of note on their agenda.
DAVIDSON, NC β The Town of Davidson's Town Board meets Tuesday, and the agenda has several hot topics concerning residents of the town. Here's a short summation of the items that stick out most so people interested can keep up in record time.
- The Bungalows
- Summary: Staff have been working with Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement to
have the 32 units at The Bungalows inspected for minimum housing code violations. Eugene Bradley, public housing and equity director, will give an update on the progress at the Bungalows and discuss next steps moving. Since this is a work session, this is just a discussion and no formal action will be taken yet.

- New Condos
- Developer Jake Palillo, proposes six residential units in a single, three-story building with parking beneath the building. The parcel lies in the Lakeshore Planning Area, which requires a minimum 5 percent open space on-site and preservation of the lake shoreline for public use. The proposal includes certain provisions that do not meet the Davidson Planning Ordinance, therefore the project will go through a rezoning process and require approval by the Davidson Board of Commissioners. - $4 Million From American Rescue Act For Davidson
- The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was passed into law on March 11 last year. The Town of Davidson is projected to receive $4.16 million. The town has already taken numerous actions to ensure proper use of funds. The Final Rule was released by the Treasury Department on January 6, 2022, with news that a $10 Million standard allowance for βLost Revenueβ is available for municipalities, along with several other provisions. Funds must be obligated by December 31, 2024 and spent by December 31, 2026. They are taking public input.
