Dr. Matthew Slota was named principal at Winding Springs Elementary. He has been assistant principal at Druid Hills Academy since 2020 and was assistant principal at Marie G. Davis K-8 from 2019-2020 and Idlewild Elementary from 2015-2019. He also was dean of students at Idlewild from 2011-2015, a teacher at Ridge Road Middle from 2009-2011 and assistant principal at Winget Park Elementary from 2008-2009.
Dr. Slota earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Belmont Abbey College, Belmont, and a master's degree in teaching from Pfeiffer University, Charlotte. He also earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from Capella University, Minneapolis.
