Davidson Reading Partnership Collecting Books For Students
Read Davidson is collecting book selections to make sure students are prepared with their own copy of required reading materials.

DAVIDSON, NC β ReadDavidson is asking people to donate books to local schools so they can make sure 2022 reading selections are in children's hands when they need them for school.
The committee is currently planning to make sure those in Davidson K8 through Hough High School as well as local private and charter schools are covered with the reading materials they need.
Those interested can get involved by donating the following books:

Young Adult/Adult (Fiction): What Makes Us by Rafi Mittlefehldt
Middle Grades (Non-Fiction/Graphic Novel): When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed
Childrenβs Picture Book: Story Boat by Kyo Maclear, illustrated by Rashin Kheiriyeh
To donate books to schools, either purchase one or more of the titles above at Main Street Books or enter code D22DONATION when you checkout online. Davidson Parks and Recreation Department will be charged with distributing any and all donated books.

ReadDavidson, an annual town-wide reading initiative that started in 2007, is a partnership between the Town of Davidson, the Davidson Public Library, Main Street Books, and local avid readers. The ReadDavidson committee encourages people to read a selected book and attend fun book-related events that make the books come to life.
