DAVIDSON, NC — The risk of severe weather is inching its way back into the Charlotte and Lake Norman region Wednesday night into Thursday.
Temperatures have been unseasonably warm this week, helping conditions ripen for the possibility of strong storms, gusty winds and even an isolated tornado.
According to Accuweather, the high temperature forecast for Wednesday is 71, and for Thursday, it's 74.

That's coupled with a strong line of storms that will make its way through in the overnight hours.
Showers are possible all day Wednesday, with a 70 percent chance around noon that wanes to a 33 percent chance in the afternoon.

According to WCNC, the main impact of the storms will be Thursday morning from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. but in the greater area, some storms could pop up later.
Expect rainy weather on New Year's Eve.
The next severe weather possibility is over the weekend from Saturday night into Sunday morning.
