50th Signal Battalion Soldier Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run

The soldier is accused of hitting a motorcyclist and fleeing the scene.

On Tuesday the Fayetteville police arrested Sgt. First Class Edward William Hall, 35, charging him with second-degree murder and felony hit-and-run over the weekend.

The police report that David Keller, 54, of Fayetteville, was traveling through the intersection of Morganton Road and Skibo Road Saturday around 4 a.m. on his Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck by a vehicle and later died.

Hall, an E7 at Fort Bragg serves in the 50th Signal Battalion. The chain-of-command was not available to comment Tuesday evening.

According to a Fayetteville Observer news report, Hall's Cadillac Escalade was in a body shop for repairs when the shop was tipped off by an online police description of the vehicle.
