82nd Airborne Division Band Welcomes Home our Troopers for the Holidays
Holiday music, patriotism and Army bands go hand-in-hand

The 82nd Airborne Division's "All American" Band will host a holiday concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the All American Chapel Center.
Under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joseph Newby, the band will
play a variety of music, including traditional Christmas carols, jazz
renditions of popular holiday songs, and music inspired by the Jewish Festival
of Hanukkah.
"Due to deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn
this is the first time since 2010 that the entire Division has been on Fort
Bragg. This concert is our way of saying, 'Welcome home, Paratroopers! Β Well
done!'" says Newby.
Since it was formed on March 29, 1942, the band's mission has been to provide
musical support throughout the full spectrum of military operations,
instilling in Soldiers the will to fight and win, fostering the support of
American citizens, and promoting our Nation's interests at home and abroad.
The band has been recognized numerous times for its service. With
decorations to include: Β Meritorious Unit Commendation (Army); Streamer,
embroidered Afghanistan 2007-2008; Belgian Fourragere, 1940, for action in the Ardennes, Belgium, and Germany; Netherlands Military Order of William, Degree of the Knight of Fourth Class; Streamer, embroidered Nijmegen 1944;
