FORT BRAGG, N.C. - The Army announced April 10 the reinstatement of the Tuition Assistance Program for the remainder of the 2013 fiscal year.
A statement posted to the GoArmyEd portal, used by Soldiers to request Tuition Assistance, said that the reinstitution of the TA program will allow “Soldiers to request Tuition Assistance for the remainder of fiscal year 2013. For the balance of FY13, the eligibility rules for use of TA, the $250 semester hour cap and the annual ceiling of $4,500 remain unchanged.”

No new enrollments, corrections to non-LOI TA forms or changes from one class to another are authorized for classes with start dates between March 8 and April 9, 2013.
Fort Bragg Army Continuing Education System (ACES) Education Services Officer Mike Brennan lauded the decision as a great benefit to Soldiers in the current budgetary environment.

“This is great news during this time of fiscal uncertainty. Our counseling center and college programs stand ready to assist our customers. Army TA remains a top benefit to assist Soldiers with completing their educational goals,” Brennen said.
Brennen added that Soldiers can also ask Fort Bragg education counselors about available standardized tests such as CLEP and DSST exams to help fulfill degree requirements, which will assist in deferring degree completion costs.
More information about the Tuition Assistance Program is available at Counseling Services, J Wing at the Bragg Training and Education Center (BTEC), at the corner of Knox and Randolph Streets or by calling 910-396-6721.
