Deputies Catch Suspects While Crime in Progress

Cedar Creek Road robbery foiled

Cumberland County Sheriff Deputies responding to a home burglar alarm, captured two suspects while the crime was in progress according to the Cumberlnd County Sheriff's Office.

Damian Robert Guthary, 18,Β  of 636 Monagan Street and Jonathan Antwaian Nathan Galloway, 19,Β  of 707 Italy Street, both of Fayetteville, have been jailed on charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.Β 

On Saturday, January 5, 2013 Guthary and Monagan gained entrance into a home located on the 7500 block of Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville.Β  While inside, an alarm sounded and deputies were dispatched to the residence.Β  The teens were seen removing two, flat screen television sets, a knife and machete, as well as a Nintendo WII gaming system.

Guthary and Galloway were captured coming out of the residence with the property wearing ski masks and gloves.

Both suspects are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond, each.

Guthary will make a first court appearance today at 2:30 p.m. in the Detention Center Courtroom.
