Early Morning House Explosion Under Investigation

Morning commute and bus routes will be affected

An investigation is underway following a house explosion along the 300 block of Cumberland Road.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 06, 2013 Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the residence. The blast rocked the foundations of nearby homes and shattered windows of residents in the area.

As a result of the explosion, traffic along Cumberland Road, Boone Trail and Natal Road will be rerouted for the next few hours. This will affect school bus routes as well as the morning commute for workers.Β  Anyone who normally travels this area should seek an alternate route, until the debris is removed from the roadway and normal traffic is restored.

Meanwhile, the State Bureau of Investigation is handing the investigation.
