Easter Rabbit Skydives into Festival Park Egg Hunt

Epicenter Church sponsored the "Hop in the Park" for an estimated 13,000 people.

Kicking off Friday night's "Hop in the Park", the Easter Rabbit (AKA: Chris Ward, a former Golden Knight) jumped into Festival Park, crazy rabbit and all. The crowd cheered as she landed and ran along the crowd giving a high-five to lines of kids.

The grounds at Festival Park were covered with 75,000 Easter eggs for three separately timed egg hunts.

The egg hunts were divided into three age groups and it was a mad dash for kids of all ages to gather the colorful plastic eggs. Eggs were exchanged for gift bags from the church.

"I did not find the golden egg," exclaimed one 5-year old as he held his green basket filled with plastic eggs.

Hot dogs, sno-cones and funnel cakes were free - if you wanted to wait in line behind 500 people. Lines were long for the several bouncy houses set up, but parents did not seem to mind. The weather was mild, the music was good and everyone was in the spirit of things, as expected at Festival Park.
