Epic News for Concealed Handgun Carriers in North Carolina

Concealed carry privileges could expand, a victory for gun activists.

On Wednesday the House Judiciary A Committee passed the Subcommitte's House Bill 937 vote to amend firearms laws in the Tar Heel state. Next it will progress onto the Agenda to be voted on in the NC house. If passed, it will move forward to the Governer's desk to become a law.

It could soon be legal for concealed permit handgun owners to bring firearms onto college campuses, and into bars and restaurants.

Representatives of the National Rifle Association, Grass Roots North Carolina and other gun owner rights groups endorsed the bill during the committee hearing, saying it granted changes long sought by gun owners according to a WRAL news report.

One of the rules for concealed permit carriers is that they cannot consume alcohol while carrying. Every responsible gun owner knows and abides by these rules. But how will business owners react?

Hitting a roadblock in 2011 with similar 'restaurant carry' type measure, guns group activists see this as a big win for their carrying privileges.
