Fort Bragg's 16th MP Brigade Personnel Receive Prestigious Awards
Members of the 16th Military Police Brigade were recognized last week with awards.
Fire Chief of the Year - Mark Melvin, Fire Chief of Fort Bragg, was awarded North Carolina's Fire Chief of the Year earlier this month. With more than 1,900 fire departments in the state, Chief Melvin distinguished himself above the rest and earned this well-deserved honor according to Capt. Lisa Beum, Public Affairs Officer. He has served for 30 years and as fire chief for more than 17 years.
Congratulations to Sgt. Stephen Fagan, 42nd Military Police Detachment, 16th MP Brigade for being the first ever military recipient of the "Law Enforcement Award of Excellence in Eastern North Carolina," sponsored by the North Carolina Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Sgt. Fagan was nominated for the prestigious award after working on the Sobriety Court team for the past two years, according to Capt. Lisa Beum, Public Affairs Officer.
