Investigation Underway into Shooting Near Mayor's Downtown Residence

The sidewalks downtown past the Market House were blocked off with yellow crime tape after a shooting was reported near 101 Person St. Thursday afternoon.

Fayetteville Police were not available to answer questions since the scene is under investigation.

The renovated historic residential building belongs to Mayor and Mrs. Anthony Chavonne on the top level, while the rest of the building space consists of two apartments and office space.
