Man Killed in Civilian-Military Vehicle Accident on Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG, N.C. β A Raeford man was killed when the vehicle he was riding in struck a Caiman Mine Resistant, Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle on Fort Braggβs Chicken Road Jan. 16 at about 5 p.m. A second passenger in the civilian vehicle was not seriously injured.
The name of the individual killed in the incident is withheld pending next of kin notification according to Ben Abel, Fort Bragg Public Affairs Officer.
Authorities say the civilian sedan, traveling east-bound, struck the military vehicle as it was entering the roadway from the postβs Range 52. Army medics on the scene provided immediate medical assistance to the civilians. The occupant of the civilian vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the other civilian was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.
