The minimum wage in North Carolina still remains at $7.25 an hour. Employers doing business in North Carolina are required to pay at least $7.25 per hour to all employees (agricultural and domestic employees are subject to the federal minimum wage).
Given the state of the lack of decisions to be agreed upon concerning the Fiscal Cliff, it is not a surprise that Congress did not approve President Obama's push to raise the minimum wage from its current $7.25 per hour to $9.50 back in April.
