NC Native Awarded Presidential Citizens Medal

For the first time, a North Carolina native joined the ranks with celebrities such as Hank Aaron, Muhammad Ali and Elizabeth Taylor as a recipient of the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second highest civilian honor awarded by the President.
Michael Dorman, founder and executive director of Military Missions In Action (MMIA), a North Carolina-based organization that helps veterans with disabilities achieve independent living, was honored, along with 13 other recipients at a ceremony, Friday, Feb. 15, at the White House in Washington, D.C.
