New Parking Signs Reserved for Families of the Fallen

Fort Bragg has always gone to great lengths to show their support for soldiers and their families, but especially when they honor their fallen.

Promoting awareness and support for Families of the Fallen, designated parking signs are now strategically located at many of the frequented spots. The signs are brown bearing the Gold Star Service flag locations include:the Survivor Outreach Services building, located on the corner of Knox and Macomb streets; North and South Commissaries and Exchanges; Womack Army Medical Center (Reilly Road entrance); and the Soldier Support Center.

Another recognition is the Survivor Decal. Eligible Families must register with Fort Bragg's Survivor Outreach Services at (910) 396-0384, fill out an application which is checked through official military records to determine eligibility and once notified of acceptance, Families have 30 days to retrieve a controlled, numbered sticker to affix on their vehicle.

"We want our Families to know that we will continue to provide them with ongoing support for as long as they desire. These signs and decals will remind our Families that we do support them, and that we will always recognize their ultimate sacrifice," said Charlotte Watson, Survivor Outreach Services Program manager.

Eligible Families include those who have lost service members while serving on active duty, according to a Fort Bragg Public Affairs media release on Monday.

"The sign will also serve as a way to promote awareness and educate the military community about these Families and the loss they have suffered," added Watson.
