Police Chief Finalists Announced

Fayetteville to get new Police Chief

Out of 131 applicants, it's down to the final two perspective police chief candidates. Both candidates made appearances in Fayetteville Tuesday at the Kiwanis Recreation Center and at the Westover Recreation Center.

Malik Aziz is from the Dallas Police Department where he is a field services division deputy chief.

Harold Medlock comes from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department where he is one of five deputy chiefs.

Fayetteville's City Manager Ted Voorhees is responsible for selecting the next chief and wanted to involve the public in the process.

Around 50 people showed up Tuesday afternoon at the Kiwanis Recreation Center to hear the announcement and meet the two candidates.
