POLL: DoD Reiterates Rules to Restrict Political Activity
The release comes two days after a uniformed soldier publicly endorsed Ron Paul.

The Department of Defense released an article that highlights Directive 1344.10 and the Hatch act, which restrict political activity for active duty and reserve service members.
The reminder came two days after to a cheering crowd in Iowa while in uniform.
The soldier potentially violated the the rules Tuesday, the release stated.

A portion of the release expresses restrictions for service members at political rallies:
"Military members, for example, may attend political meetings or rallies only as spectators and not in uniform. They're not permitted to make public political speeches, serve in any official capacity in partisan groups or participate in partisan political campaigns or conventions. They also are barred from engaging in any political activities while in uniform."
